Everybody’s Talking

┈┈┈┈┈☟┈┈┈┈┈

Foiled crime: An employee at a fast food restaurant in Stockton, California (US) excels at more than flipping burgers. The young man is also good at keeping the shop from becoming a victim of a crime. During an attempted robbery, two thieves entered the front door and demanded money from the staff at the counter. Meanwhile, a third staff member slipped out the back door, thinking he would call for help. What he found in the parking lot was the empty getaway car with the motor still running which he drove to the next block. The robbers were later caught by police as they attempted to escape.
Blood suckers: Ever wonder why some people seem to get more mosquito bites than others? Research into this topic has discovered a few answers to this puzzling question. First of all, a person’s blood type plays a role. Those with Type O blood are tastier to mosquitoes than people with other blood types. Mosquitoes can identify most people’s blood types because 85 percent of us give off a chemical signal. As well, carbon dioxide from our breathing attracts these insects. Adults give off more carbon dioxide than younger people, so adults will find themselves swatting at the bugs more than children during mosquito-infested summer nights.
Dolphin gift: Members of a family from Combe Martin, a seaside village in Devon, England, got the surprise of their lives during an afternoon of kayaking. A dolphin found them and decided to play in the waters around the kayaks, much to the delight of Lucy Watkins and her grandparents. The surprise came when the dolphin emerged with a 20-pound cod, then nudged it towards Lucy’s kayak. At first, Lucy was afraid to take the fish out of the water, but then the dolphin surfaced again, this time with a fish for himself. The family took their gift home and ate it for supper, all the while amazed at the dolphin’s actions.
Moose mania: A grocery story in Smithers, British Columbia (CAN) had an unusual visitor – a young moose who walked through the electronic doors just like any other shopper, then took a walk through the flower section. A store employee came to the aid of the moose, who was definitely out of his natural environment. The employee grabbed an apple and, using the fruit as a lure, led the animal back outside. The moose was then tranquilized by conservation officers and taken back to the woods. Apparently, people had been feeding the moose, causing its unusual behavior. Officials warn against feeding wild animals.
