Everybody’s Talking

┈┈┈┈┈☟┈┈┈┈┈

Really wooly: If a certain sheep in Tasmania could talk, it might say, “Baaaa! I need a hair cut!” That’s because when found, its wool measured a half metre (1.6 feet) thick, which is quite wooly for a sheep. Farmers Peter and Netty Hazel found the sheep on their land. They claim that the animal, affectionately named Shaun, had never been shorn. Shaun had escaped over six years ago from his own farm, located 25 miles away from the Hazel’s land. Due to the extra wool which weighed 44 lbs (20 kg) and was even hanging over his eyes, he was easily caught.

City of water: When most people think of canals, they think of Venice, Italy. However, if someone wants to experience a city of canals, there are other alternatives. For example, Stockholm, Sweden is home to many canals that are used to connect the city, which is built on 14 islands. As well, there are about 60 bridges throughout Stockholm. In summer, the city’s waterways are busy, but it’s also appealing in the winter when the canals freeze over and are used for winter recreational activities, such as ice-skate sailing.

Parasol hole: A tiny kitten in Lewisham, London, England, found itself in gigantic trouble when it stuck its head though the hole of a picnic table. The hole was not meant for a kitten’s head, but for the pole of an umbrella (or parasol). At that moment, the parasol was not in use and kitty got stuck. Some passersby heard distressed mewing and went to investigate. A vet had to be called to sedate the poor kitty, but soon the rescuers were able to remove the boards from the table to free the feline, whose name is now Parasol.

Marry me: Not all celebrities marry other celebrities, even though it seems that way when reading the tabloids. Some actually marry ordinary people that you might see working in the local pub, for example. That’s the story of American actor, Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso. Matt met Luciana when she was working in a bar in Miami, Florida (US). He was trying to avoid photographers when she found him hiding in the bar. The rest is history. The couple fell in love, got married and are raising their three children, along with Luciana’s daughter from a previous marriage.
