Red Deer
Auditions for Red Deer Children’s Choir
Date & Time: Starting September 18, rehearsals on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.
Location: Red Deer
Details: Children in Grades 2-5 are encouraged to audition to be part of the award-winning Red Deer Children’s Choir. The choir runs through until the beginning of May. It is $40 for the entire year, thanks to our benefactor Musicplay Online.

59th Annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament
Date & Time: Tuesday, July 23
Location: Alberta Springs Golf Resort

Calcium-rich: Calcium is an important nutrient for the growth and maintenance of bones and teeth. Foods high in calcium include cheese, sesame seeds, tofu, almonds, and dairy products. Dark green leafy vegetables, such as kale, are also good choices.
Pink and pricey: There is a famous and pricey diamond known as The Graff Pink. At 24.78 carats and sporting a gorgeous pink tinge, it was purchased for over $45 million by British billionaire Laurence Graff who is a jewelry dealer.
Look up: Clouds can help forecast the weather. For example, cirrus clouds can indicate that bad weather is coming, while sunny periods usually accompany cumulus clouds. Nimbostratus clouds indicate that rain is imminent.
Long lives: There are a few creatures that can live for a long, long time. An Aldabra tortoise is thought to have been about 250 when it died at the Calcutta Zoo. Deep-sea tubeworms, which dwell in the Gulf of Mexico, can also live for over 200 years.
