One-wheeled wonder:
Mountain bikes are the usual choice for an outing on a rugged mountain trail, but some people prefer using a unicycle. That is the case for Lutz Eichholz and Stephanie Dietze of Germany, who had gained so much notoriety riding unicycles on mountain trails that an athletic shoe company sponsored them on a trip to the Dolomite Mountains in Italy. Accompanied by a videographer, these cyclists were filmed showing their skill at this extreme sport. The sport, which actually got its start on the West Coast of the United States, has a whole subculture of riders who enjoy trekking down the mountain on only one wheel.

Think pink:
Generally, when one thinks of pink lips, it is women’s lipstick that comes to mind. However, there is a fad in Nigeria right now for men. It seems that a pink bottom lip on a man is considered to be an attractive feature, so men are having their lower lips tattooed in that colour. To make this fashion statement a reality, men go to a tattoo parlour for the procedure, which costs about $30 to $40 (US). Some tattoo shops can also provide various shades of red for the end result. Because tattoos are permanent, the question one might ask is why don’t they just do what women do and use a tube of lipstick?

Loyal canine:
A dog’s loyalty to its owner is something that is hard to explain, but easy to understand. For example, there is a dog named Ciccio who lived with his owner, Maria Margherita Lochi, in San Donaci, Italy, for many years. Ciccio had been a stray and Lochi took him in. Ciccio went everywhere with Lochi, even to her local church. When the woman passed away, the faithful Ciccio started to go to the church when the church bells rang, and it appeared he was waiting for his owner to return. The priest and the congregation don’t mind at all, and everyone welcomes in the gentle, quiet canine to their sanctuary.

Lovable bunnies:
Bunny lovers…listen up! People who yearn to have bunnies nibble lettuce out of their hands might enjoy taking a trip to Okunoshima, Japan. Okunoshima is a small island that is home to hundreds of rabbits. No one is sure how the animals got there, although one theory says that children on a field trip left a few bunnies there in the 1970s and the rest is history. Tourists come to this small island (1.5 miles) to play with and feed the bunnies. These furry creatures are considered wild animals, but they are very tame because of their contact with humans. No dogs or cats are allowed on the island and hunting is against the law.
