Generous act: A girl from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, who stands 5’3” tall has decided to cut and sell her hair so it can be used for hair extensions. Her hair will provide the makings for a lot of extensions because Natasha Moraes de Andrade’s mane is 5’2” long. Her hair has never been cut and her long tresses reach to her ankles. She goes through a bottle of shampoo in one week. She says that her hair is very difficult to maintain and will be glad to have it cut off. She lives in a shanty town and the money she receives will be appreciated.

Sweet emergency: When Loretta and Dave Yates noticed honey dripping from cracks in their ceiling, they figured there might be bees around their home. When they discovered that their kitchen light fixture was filling with honey, they realized the problem was serious. The couple, who lives in Varney, Ontario (CA), took their toddler and left their home while a crew removed thousands of bees nesting in their ceilings. Beekeeper Dave Schuit explained that he captured the queen bee, then the worker bees followed it into a box, making removal easier than he expected.

Pint-sized painter: Australia is the homeland of a child artist named Aelita Andre. Andre’s parents explain that the little girl began painting at nine months of age. When she was two, they took her works to their hometown gallery in Melbourne, without revealing their daughter’s age. Seven of her 15 canvasses sold quickly. Word got around and Andre’s paintings now sell for between $5,000 and $10,000, with a Hong Kong buyer once paying $24,000 for one piece. According to Angela Di Bello, director of the Agora Gallery in New York City (US), the pint-sized painter’s art is classified as abstract expressionism and surrealist.

Celebrity cat: Trooper the cat is a celebrity now that it has met the other Trooper celebrities – the Canadian rock band that made the song, “Raise a Little Hell,” famous. The cat became notorious after it lost its hind leg and tail when it got trapped overnight in ice in Stephenville, Newfoundland (CA). When the band members heard the story, they sent a care package to the feline. When the band played near Stephenville, a meeting was arranged, and Trooper the cat was delivered to the concert in a limo. Gwen Samms, president of the local shelter, accompanied Trooper. According to Samms, the band made them feel very welcome, and Trooper the cat behaved wonderfully.
