Everybody’s Talking

┈┈┈┈┈☟┈┈┈┈┈

Unusual work: Those looking for a career change might want to consider the job being advertised by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The agency is looking for crocodile response agents. This job involves assisting in the capture of wayward crocs, coming to the aid when there are human-croc conflicts, and recovering croc carcasses, among other uncommon duties. Experience is preferred, but not required for the job, which pays $25 an hour. According to Carli Segelson, a spokesperson for the commission, the danger is minimal because the successful applicant will receive thorough training.

Rev it up: Most young boys will mimic car sounds while they play, but Daniel Jovanov has taken it to a whole new level. The Sydney, Australia teenager calls his act “Human Car Sounds,” and his unique talent has won him standing ovations in Australia’s “Got Talent Show.” As well, his YouTube videos have gone viral. Jovanov has taught himself how to sound like the Red Bull Formula One car driven by Mark Webber, a rotary engine Mazda RX-3 drag racer, and the Holden Torana V8, to name just a few. Jovanov says he can do car impressions on demand – a unique talent, indeed!

Not a teddy bear: Most kids are used to snuggling up with a stuffed teddy bear at night, but in Hemel Hempstead, England, Alexander West had quite a different companion for the night. A baby fox had made himself at home in the boy’s second-floor bedroom. Alexander’s mom, thought that her son was joking when he ran to tell her there was a fox asleep in his bed. When she found out it was true, she was “absolutely shocked.” They figure the fox came inside the house when the youngster left the back door of their home open.

Incredible journey: Saroo Brierley was five-years old in 1986 when he got lost and eventually became a child beggar on the streets of Calcutta. He was rescued and taken to an orphanage, later to be adopted by a couple in Tasmania. Twenty-five years later, using today’s technology, Brierley was able to use satellite images on Google Earth – and his memory – to find the location of his home, zeroing in on images that he remembered from childhood. He was able to find his village of Khandwa, and amazingly, found his mother. Brierly says his mother was as shocked as he was when they met face to face.
